Strathmeyer Christmas Trees and the Christmas SPIRIT Foundation are sponsoring a "Trees for Troops Weekend" from Friday, December 5 through Sunday, December 7, 2008. The event will take place at the Strathmeyer Christmas Trees lot at the York Fairgrounds, across from the Toyota Arena. Customers will be given the opportunity to purchase an extra tree, which will then be donated to the Trees for Troops program. This program provides a Real Tree experience for deserving military families who might not otherwise have had a Real Tree as the centerpiece of their Christmas celebration. All trees purchased as part of this program will be loaded onto a Fed Ex trailer and then sent to military families at a designated U.S. Base.
